Privacy Policy

1) Data Controller

The controller responsible for data processing on this website and within the CAMRO system in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

Hundsrücker Tierschutz gUG (haftungsbeschränkt)

Managing Director: Angelika Schneider

Europaallee 33, 67657 Kaiserslautern, Germany

Phone: +49 176 81081042

Email: hallo@camro.ro

2) TLS/SSL Encryption

This website and the downstream management system use SSL or TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content (e.g., form submissions). You can recognize an encrypted connection by the address line of your browser (“https://”) and the lock symbol.

3) Data Collection when Visiting the Website (Server Log Files)

During purely informational use of our website, we only collect data that your browser transmits to our server for technical reasons. In server log files, the following are processed:

  • Accessed page / file
  • Date and time of access
  • Volume of data transferred
  • Referrer URL (the previously visited page)
  • Browser used and operating system
  • IP address (anonymized if applicable)

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the technically faultless provision, stability, and security of the website. No combination of this data with other data sources or transfer to third parties takes place.

4) Cookies

We use technically necessary cookies on our website (e.g., to store language selection via Polylang or to ensure form processing). Insofar as cookies are not technically necessary, we set them only with your prior consent.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR or § 25(2) TDDDG for necessary cookies; Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR or § 25(1) TDDDG for cookies requiring consent. You can configure your browser to inform you about the placement of cookies or block them generally.

5) Integrated Third-Party Services

a) Google Fonts (Web Fonts)

For uniform and appealing font representation, this website integrates external fonts from Google (“Google Fonts”). The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

When calling up a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into your browser cache to display texts correctly. In doing so, the browser connects to Google servers (thereby notifying Google that our website was accessed via your IP address). This may also involve data transfer to Google LLC servers in the USA.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent via cookie banner) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a uniform typographic presentation of our online presence, if integrated locally). You can revoke your consent at any time with future effect via the cookie settings on the website.

b) Google reCAPTCHA

To protect form entries (e.g., applications or contact requests) against automated abuse, spambots, and spam attacks, we use the reCAPTCHA service. The provider is also Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

reCAPTCHA analyzes website visitor behavior based on various characteristics (e.g., IP address, duration of stay on the website, or mouse movements). The data collected during the analysis is forwarded to Google and evaluated there.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in protecting our forms and server infrastructure against automated reconnaissance, spam, and abuse.

Further information on handling user data can be found in Google’s privacy policy at: https://policies.google.com/privacy

6) Contacting Us

When contacting us (e.g., via email or general contact forms), the contact details provided by you will be processed exclusively to handle and process your inquiry.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in processing inquiries). If the contact aims to conclude a contract, the additional legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. The data will be deleted as soon as the matter has been conclusively resolved and no statutory retention obligations apply.

7) CAMRO Needs Assessment (Romanian Municipalities)

Within the CAMRO project, we contact Romanian municipal administrations to determine their support needs in stray dog management.

  • Purpose: Needs analysis, initiating cooperation, and structuring local assistance measures.
  • Data categories: Publicly provided contact details of the municipal administration (email, telephone), name and function of contact persons, and information provided in the survey form regarding the local situation.
  • Origin: Publicly accessible registers and publications of municipalities as well as direct transmission by the municipality via the online form.
  • Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in contacting public bodies for public task management) and Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures upon active transmission).
  • Recipients: Data is not transferred to third parties. Anonymized aggregate evaluations (without personal or municipal reference) are exempt, provided explicit consent has been given (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
  • Storage duration: Until completion of the CAMRO project or until the purpose of processing ceases to exist, provided statutory retention periods do not prevent deletion.

8) CAMRO Application Form (Official Cooperation Application)

If a municipality submits an official cooperation application, we process the information provided in the application (e.g., financial needs, own contribution, and commitment declarations) in addition to the needs assessment data.

  • Purpose: Evaluation, approval, and execution of cooperation.
  • Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract initiation and fulfillment).
  • Recipients: Partner organizations involved in execution, insofar as required for implementing the measures.

9) Support Offers from Partner Organizations

Organizations, companies, or individuals offering help via the respective form submit contact details as well as information on the type and scope of support offered.

  • Purpose: Review, matchmaking, and coordination of suitable aid operations.
  • Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR. If cooperation is established, the name and logo of the partner organization will be publicly displayed on camro.ro with their consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

10) Feedback and Quality Assurance

Participating municipalities and partner organizations can submit progress reports and evaluations via a feedback form. This information serves internal quality assurance of the CAMRO process.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in optimizing the quality of aid projects).

11) Hosting and Technical Infrastructure (Website & CAMRO CRM)

Technical provision of the CAMRO system takes place via a two-part infrastructure:

  1. Website (camro.ro): This website operates as a WordPress installation.
  2. CAMRO Management System (app.camro.ro): Data collected under sections 7–10 (needs assessment, applications, offers, feedback) is not stored in the WordPress database. It is processed in a separate database hosted on a dedicated virtual server (Cloud VPS). Administrative email dispatch also takes place via this server.

Service Provider: Both systems (Website and Cloud VPS) are hosted by Hostinger International Ltd. (61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus). Data processing is carried out based on Hostinger’s Data Processing Addendum (Art. 28 GDPR), guaranteeing compliance with European data protection standards.

12) Duration of Storage

Unless a specific storage period is mentioned in this policy, personal data remains with us until the purpose for processing no longer applies. If you submit a justified request for deletion or revoke consent, data will be deleted unless statutory retention requirements (e.g., commercial or tax retention periods) require further storage.

13) Rights of the Data Subject and Supervisory Authorities

Under applicable statutory provisions, you have the right at any time to:

  • Access / Information regarding your stored personal data (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • Erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • Revocation of given consent with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR)
  • Objection to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR)

To exercise these rights, an informal email to hallo@camro.ro is sufficient.

Right to lodge a complaint with supervisory authorities (Art. 77 GDPR):
